Marathon Memorial Markers Kit
//CREATE. REVISE. REPEAT//
The past few years I have been hard at work as a palette artist, working on Bungie's newest title Marathon. It has been a great honor to run along side the other incredible artists at Bungie. Helping to define the palette of this beautiful, broken world has been so rewarding.
Working alongside the other palette, world, technical, and concept artists, we defined the physical world of this game. Creating a new reality where players feel immersed in a world that does not want them there. From benches and bathrooms to vehicles and memorials I created assets that world art used to tell stories all across the different maps of Marathon. Using Maya I modeled assets, applied shaders, arranged decals, and iterated on many different palette pieces, designing each like it was a stand alone graphic artwork. I created hero assets, modular kits, and many machines. Though I would not have been able to push the pieces and match the style as well, if it was not for my team. I am very grateful for all the other artists who shared ideas, gave critiques and suggested changes to the assets I was working on. It is thanks to them that I was able to improve and create some pretty cool pieces.
These are some of the patterns I helped create. Each of them had their own challenges when it came to adjusting the shape language and decals. I was given excellent concept art for these assets and it was my responsibility to create the assets and get them in game.
